She taught at Floral  Avenue Elementary School for four years, before becoming director and teacher at First Methodist School  in 1973. She is married to Walter Stoltz, Jr. and has two sons. Elsa Huff

Elsa Huff was born in Bartow, Florida and has lived there all of her life, except for four years in college. She attended Florida State  University where she got her B.S. degree in education with a minor in early childhood. She has taught at First  Methodist School since 1973. She is married to Patrick Huff. She has two grown children, Jamie Meyer and Mary Claire Meyer Miller and three grown stepchildren, Anne Sylvester, Susan Slater & Kathleen Barry.  Mrs. Elsa and Mr. Pat have nine grandchildren whom they see as often as possible.  Her daughter Mary Claire is an attorney in Jacksonville.  Her son Jamie is a CFO for the surgeons at MUSC in Charleston.  They both attended FMS.

Mrs. Elsa has taught third grade since 1979.  She loves being in a christian school and being able to share her love of God through prayer and Bible study.  She said "Teaching at First Methodist School has been a blessing everyday for her."

Andrea Payne

Who am I?  I received my degree in Elementary Education/Early Childhood from Florida  Southern College in 1992.  I have been using my degree to not only educate academically, but spiritually as well, by working in Christian schools.  My years of teaching experience have been used on the pre-school, elementary, and middle school levels.

I reside in Lakeland with my husband Ted and my two children,  Alexandrea and Teddy.  As a family we attend the First United Methodist Church in Lakeland, where I am a lifetime member.

Through my children I have the opportunity to be a part of extra curricular activities such as a soccer volunteer, backstage dance mom, and a very busy Girl Scout leader.  I also have been actively involved in the school’s parent club and am looking forward to being a part of the many activities here at First Methodist School.

Lesha Hall

Lesha Hall has been teaching Art at First Methodist School for six years.  Both of her children graduated from First Methodist School.  Lesha was born in St. Louis, Missouri but has lived in approximately seven states due to the fact that her father is a Southern Baptist Minister.  She has been married to Alan Hall for 18 years.  They have two children (teenagers) Ashley, 16 and Logan, 13.  She has taken private art lessons since age six and attended college for an Education degree in Art.  She is very involved in her church as choir teacher for 2nd-5th grades and Women's Ministry Coordinator.  She has taught Sunday School for the last 17 years but has taken the year off for a breather.  She teaches the Association Vacation Bible Study Clinic each year and goes on a Mission Tour and repeats her Vacation Bible Study in another state over the summer.  She loves her Lord, family, church, and friends but most of all loves being a servant of the Lord.  Teaching at First Methodist School is a delight.  The children's abilities year after year are growing in the technique of art.  She loves coloring the World with God's love.

Kathy Nooe

I was raised and lived in Bartow most of my life before moving to Lakeland three years ago.  I have worked at FMS for over 12 years.  I attend First Baptist  Church and teach 5 year-old Sunday School.  I have two daughters Crickett, age 24, who lives is Port Charlotte, FL and Christina, age 20 who is married to Jeffrey Young and lives in Lakeland.  I also raised Richie Marsh, who is 30 years old, married to Jennifer and has two children, Kylee and Colbie.  Richie is the head football coach for Bartow High School.

Susan Bergdoll

Mrs. Susan Bergdoll is a native of Bartow, Florida.  She has a degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood from the University of South Florida.  She intern-taught under Mrs. Stoltz at Floral Elementary School.  After marrying her husband David, they lived in Germany for three wonderful years and then returned to Florida while David attended Law School at the University of Florida in Gainesville.  After his graduation, they moved to Lakeland where they still reside.  David is the General Counsel for Sheriff Crow.  Their only daughter Amanda, also an alumni and honor graduate of First Methodist School, is currently a student at the University of South Florida majoring in Business.  Mrs. Susan is now in her 13th year teaching at First Methodist School.  “This School is very much a big part of our family and I feel happy and blessed to be involved in this mission.”
